Vidmantas Velyvis sometimes uses traditional symbols that are transformed and put into a new context. The clear structure of meaning and quite spontaneous energy bear testimony to certain synthesis of rational and irrational sides of reality. The artist plays with ostensibly accidental patterns and bright colours, but at crucial pint allows his mind to meddle and indicate the ways of some futher interpretation. Vidmantas Velyvis creates asort of an abstract impressionism. He emphasizes not some peculiarities of landscape but rather the inner experience and pure melodies of colours.
